Section 3: IC Rules and Regulations

To ensure an environment that EVERYONE can enjoy, IC rules are deemed necessary.

Section 3.1: Basic IC Regulations

  1. ALL public spaces are considered IN CHARACTER (IC). 
  2. God-modding (deciding the outcome of actions against others, controlling fate) and meta-gaming (using OOC info to influence RP) will not be tolerated. 
  3. Driving/riding in/on ANYTHING is an IC action, even with an OOC tag on.
  4. Realism means walking, riding, or driving up to, NOT flying or teleporting in.
  5. RL experience does not apply in RP. Keep it to what your CHARACTER knows ICly.
  6. Racism and prejudice have no place in Cedar Creek even ICly.
  7. Gestures are OOC. TYPE OUT your emotes, do NOT gesture them!
  8. RP signs are provided to determine RP permitted on a lot. READ THEM! No sign on the lot defaults to RP being prohibited.
  9. You CAN NOT evade an RP by becoming OOC during it. 
  10. Allowed Avatars:
    1. Humans (adults and children) – No superhumans, no fantasy races
    2. Neko and Furry (Anthromorphic) – These are an Ethnicity.
    3. Ferals – Pets and wild animals
  11. Children are NOT permitted to show their buttocks (male/female) – swimsuits MUST be tasteful.
    1. They can not wear clothing that exposes underwear upon normal movement or dancing.
    2. Female minors are not permitted to wear tops that show underboob and/or abnormal cleavage
  12. Restrictions for ALL Human/Anthromorphic avatars
    1. Genitalia is to be covered. Cleavage (NOT full exposure) is permitted.
    2. Public displays AND public RPs of sexual acts are prohibited.
    3. Hooves, paws, claws, horns, tails, etc. do not grant additional perks.
  13. ALL Ferals
    1. Wild animals MUST be true to how the animal would act in the real world.
    2. Feral anatomical coverings are to be reasonably tucked.
  14. Fantasy-styled avatars are NOT permitted.

Section 3.2: Children in Cedar Creek

  1. Child avatars (minors) are permitted to explore ICly and OOCly (must wear an OOC tag).
  2. Exploring the town and under the age of 8? Take a nanny! 
  3. Street kids are permitted – you MUST BE AT LEAST 8 years of age
  4. Those UNDER the age of 8 found ICly roaming without guardians (visible or NPC), will be sent to a out of town Orphanage called “Mountain State Orphanage of Boulder County”
  5. NO sexual assault/intercourse involving those under the age of 18. PER LL TOS!
  6. Minors will ACT THEIR AGE. IC actions have IC consequences.
  7. School violence and extreme violence by/toward minors are prohibited.
  8. RPing as a child? BE A CHILD! Crimes committed by those under 14 are prohibited.
  9. Crimes committed by those 14 and up will have IC consequences, and carry adult charges.
  10. YOU must state your RP age ICly or OOCly. Profile information does NOT count!

Section 3.3: Weapon Regulations

  1. Concealed weapons MUST be RPd that they exist.
  2. Weapons CAN NOT be automatic and must be context-appropriate.
  3. Open carry is ICly illegal for those NOT in the Sheriff’s Office. 
  4. Concealed weapons are authorized only for Residents of Cedar Creek. Apply here → http://www.cedarcreeksl.com/cedar-creek-conceal-carry-application/.

Section 3.4 Criminal Regulations

  1. NPC Criminals are limited to accomplices.  
  2. NPC victims are ok with provided details (appearance, clothing, injuries, identification).
  3. ALL crime scenes MUST have an evidence box left at the scene. These can be acquired at our Welcome Center (http://maps.secondlife.com/secondlife/Array/89/9/22)
  4. Crime scene boxes DO NOT have to lead to your immediate capture. PART of the fun is the build-up AND the investigations!
  5. We are NOT looking for overly heinous crimes. We are a small town, with small-town problems.
  6. It is fine to run from the police, but keep it realistic. You DO NOT have superpowers!
  7. RP that you are running (via foot or vehicle), allow others to post before running, run, pause, and repeat the process. ALL involved should be posting, INCLUDING LEOs.
  8. When you are tased, accept. You would not realistically dodge every attempt!
  9. Criminals caught will serve time if found guilty. IC actions have IC consequences.  
  10. Criminals get sloppy and careless. They leave traces, keep trinkets, and sometimes talk too much to just the wrong (maybe right) people. You are NOT perfect!
  11. Witness or victim? Pull out your cell phone and snap some pictures if ICly possible.  Gyazo is great and saves you the upload fee with web links. RP this in the local chat.
